Yes thats right, Gary Barlow is writing songs for a British version of High School Musical, he’s been jotting down tracks left, right and centre for the ITV show Britannia High.
Britannia High is an eight part musical drama series which is set in a performing arts school. Talented youngsters between the ages of 16 and 18 are currently being put through a “real-life casting process” which started on the 12th January at the London Welsh Centre. The X-Factor style casting will broadcast on ITV before the series starts (filming on the series is scheduled to start in June and will be followed by a stage show).
As well as performing songs written by Gary, the eight main stars will be performing routines choreographed by ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Arlene Phillips. So expect a spectacular TV show and a musical extravaganza on a theatre stage this year!
