Whoa Mamma - The *bleeping* Osbournes Head To The West End!

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Yep the rumors are true, Miss Kelly Osbourne is set to star in the West End version of Chicago as the feisty Mama Morton. She is said to be frantically practicing in preparation for her West End Debut and has even shed a few pounds for the role
In my opinion Kelly is a bit of an odd choice for the part as we all remember big bolshy Queen Latifa in the 2002 film and the current Mama in the West End is …well…a little on the mature side - so I’m not to sure how a young, svelte Mama Morton will go down, but I guess we shall have to watch this space.

Lee Mead’s Opening Night in the West End As Joseph.

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Lee Mead is simply sensational, his vocal and acting talents are second to none and the loin cloth scenes are guaranteed to make you weak at the knees!
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat opened last night to hundreds of adoring fans and critics, to which Lee Mead did not disappoint. Lee has been described as “phenomenal” and that “he has such great talent, and will go far”, judging by the standing ovation we reckon that Lee Mead is a huge hit and will be a West End name for years to come. Both audience and critics were won over by his performance and any doubt that he was the wrong person to win “Any Dream Will Do” have been dashed.
However his co-stars have also received mighty praise as Preeya (Narrator) has been described as truly gorgeous and steals the show, and Dean Collinson (Pharaoh) does a surperb Elvis which had the audience in fits of laughter. From Opening night it would seem that Joseph and The Tehnicolour Dreamcoat is set to be a smash hit, despite the stage difficulties which halted the performance for 10 minutes, we are sure that the fans will keep flocking to see Lee strut his stuff on stage.
I have found a few snippets from the show and a full length version “close every door to me” in which Lee sings in his loin cloth - enjoy!

Duncan James Doesn’t Give West End Fans The Blues!

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

From Dorset to boy band, to ice skating and a range of TV shows - Duncan James certainly gets around!
Now he is trying his luck in the West End and the fans are loving it, “Dunk” as he is known by his fan club, has just begun his short stint as Billy Flynn in the sensational Chicago. When I first heard this news I didn’t think he could pull it off as he strikes me as a little too young to play the role and too under-qualified to stand up to Richard Gere’s Billy Flynn (my personal favorite). However I must say he is doing an impressive job and everybody seems pleasantly surprised with his performance, hey I’m sure his boy band good looks are pulling in theatre goers left, right and centre!
His stage presence is second to none and his vocal talents are perfect, although his dancing skills are disappointing….but luckily there is minimal dancing required and his professional nature is winning audiences over nevertheless.

His celebrity friends turned out in numbers on his opening night, from close friend Tara Palmer-Tomkinson to comedian Allan Carr, and judging from the audiences reaction I’d say Dunk is a sure fire hit in the West End. Get booking your tickets to see him quick as he finishes on the 18th August…….thats one month and seven Dunk days for all you Dunk fans out there!

Here is a sneaky peak at his vocal talents, I do apologise as the quality is quite bad and it does look like he is miming - I assure you he’s not!
