The Votes Are In - Danny B And Susan Are The Ones You Want.

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Saturday nights Grease is the Word was a nail biting finale, the contestants gave it their all but only two could win.
Sadly my favorite Anthony Kavanagh lost out to plastic looking Danny B but I must admit he was a safer choice as he can dance, sing and act. Nevertheless I was gutted to see Anthony lose, I really think he would of made the role his own and brought Kavanagh fans new & old to the West End - we shall just have to wait for his new single (there is bound to be one!).
Well there was really no competition for the girls, Susan had the whole package from day one and celebrity backing to boot! I think she was the right choice for Sandy and will make a fantastic job of it in the West End.
If you missed the final don’t panic, I have found a clip of the results for you to enjoy.

Our Favorite Sandy Is A Grease School Drop Out.

Monday, June 4th, 2007

Well we all thought that Alison was going to make it to the end to be reunited with our favorite Danny (Anthony) and take the West End by storm - sadly that dream is over as Alison was kicked out.

The judges decided it was time for Alison to go home claiming “she wasn’t strong enough”, then the public voted Vicky out leaving Michelle and Susan to go on to the final. My money is on Susan winning as she has a powerful voice and has celebrity status through her brother Brian Mc Fadden.

With our favorite Sandy gone we can only keep our fingers crossed that Anthony wins the role of Danny, keep voting as next week is the final!

So, Ben is no more. ‘The Lord’ chose to save Lewis on Saturday night’s ‘Any Dream Will Do’ sing-off. I think he made the right decision, but I still don’t think Lewis has got what it takes to win right now. I really liked his performance of ‘Oh What a Circus’ with Lee - I think it showed that he has the talent to be a musical theatre star, but I don’t think he’s consistent enough to go for it yet. Lee performed brilliantly in the duet as well, but had a few problems with his solo ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ - I’m not quite sure what went wrong, but he seemed unable to catch up with the live band at one point. However, as the judges were quick to point out, he covered his mistake easily and carried on with the song perfectly - something which actually went in his favour.

As for Keith, I think he’s a bit of an unknown quantity. Like Lee, he’s never been in a sing-off and he’s been getting lots of compliments from the judges on his voice lately. He’s the only serious challenge to Lee, but I don’t think he has as good a look for Joseph and lacks some of the charisma Lee has shown week after week. Roll on Saturday’s final!

Take a look at Lewis and Lee’s duet - the most enjoyable part of this week’s show in my opinion…

The Evil Of Mordor Strikes On Stage

Friday, June 1st, 2007

The battle scenes in the stage version The Lord Of The Rings are simply sensational, with passion and energy the characters fly across the stage with hearty crys, however one actor had a battle all of his own - with the moving stage!

Instead of play fighting with the other Orks, one actor had a tussle with the mechanical stage resulting in a broken leg and the total shut down of the show. Wednesday nights audience heard the terrible accident happen, after one of the intense battles scenes an actor was heard screaming “my leg my leg!”, hobbits elves and dwarfs flew in to help dig him out of the set and to safety.

Unfortunately this meant the end for Wednesday nights performance and the cancellation of Thursday and Fridays too. Has the evil of Mordor struck the Drury Theatre? Only time will tell……….
